It's been just over a month now since we Lost Lemmy Kilmister, but his legacy will live on as many musicians are asked to speak about their favorite memories and stories about the Moterhead frontman and the never ending impact he had on rock 'n' roll music. Yahoo music sat down with Black Sabbath bass guitarist Geezer Butler and lead singer Ozzy Osbourne express their thoughts and feelings about the recent loss to rock n roll.

"I knew he was ill, But I didn't realize he was that ill" Ozzy explained to the interviewer.

But Ozzy still offered to be there had Lemmy needed anything at all.

Sabbath and Moterhead toured together for many years and shared a lot of memories along the way.

Ozzy is clearly rattled by the loss of his good friend.

Ozzy explains that Lemmy, as rough and tough as he appeared was actually the first to offer his friendship in times of need and was always very open to talking about philosophy with other members of the bands. Lemmy was the ground wire to make this electic band a family.

Osbourne added, “He left a big hole in my life. I remember one time going around, I needed some lyrics for one of my albums… I gave him a book as well on Germany or some war thing.” Coming back a few hours later, Lemmy presented Ozzy with three sets of lyrics and commented, “And another thing — that book was sh-t!”

Now focusing on the loss of David Bowie, Osbourne claimed "I was really really shocked and Bowie's death. No one knew he was so ill" Thinking back on the legent, he continued, "I met him one time, but he was a very, very talented man, extremely talented and he took some great risks and he pulled them off". In a winding statement he ranked Bowie among the all-time rock 'n' roll icons, saying, "He's up there with the Beatles, The [Rolling] Stones, and Led Zeppelin."

Butler then started to discuss the impact that the chameleon icon had on it, commenting, "I think I've got practically every album that he's ever done. He's one of the few people you looked forward to his albums coming out". He then spoke about the days of waiting outside record shops and added, "I always ysed to look forward to a Bowie album because it changed from one album to the next."

Lemmy passed away on Dec. 28, 2015 from a combination of prostate cancer, cardiac arrhythmia and congestive heart failure two days after being diagnosed with terminal neck and brain cancer. Bowie was lost shortly after on Jan. 11 after succumbing to an 18 month battle with liver cancer.

They will both be missed, both by the fans and the the music industry.

Travel well.
