Are These Alien Eggs Found Embedded In A Frozen Lake!?

Some friends from Utah were out walking on a frozen lake near their town when they stumbled across something very strange.

It looks to be some kind of geometric design with some kind of slimy, soft alien egg looking things.

In the video they begin inspecting it by poking at it with their bare fingers, have we learned nothing from he space alien horror movies?..

Fer frig sakes...

Since its post there have been many speculations as to what they might be, everything from "alien visitors" to "someone just spilled a pot of boiled potato's on to the ice".

I have been unable to find any clear proof as to what it is but I think its worth looking into. So far the only research has shown that it is a natural occurrence that takes place when methane gas tries to escape from the ice and it has this reaction.
